WALKER, La. (BRPROUD) – Walter Daisey passed away earlier this week at the age of 65.

Daisey spent 20 years with the Walker Police Department and held many roles including Assistant Police Chief.

Some of the other roles that Daisey held include:

  • Walker Police Department’s first K9 Officer
  • Department Training Officer

Daisey retired from the force in 2006.

“Walter was truly a ‘cop’s cop,’” said Walker Chief David Addison. “When I joined the Department over 20 years ago, Walter was a supervisor. He was a tremendous asset to our Department and the other officers and I benefited significantly from his guidance and leadership.”

WPD says, services for Walter Daisey took place on Friday, July 9, in Denham Springs.

The former Assistant Police Chief “is survived by wife Melanie, daughters Chasity and Hope, sons Christopher and Brannon and numerous grandchildren.”

Daisey is buried at the Revival Temple Cemetery.
