Walking in her shoes; EBR leaders addressing domestic violence


East Baton Rouge Parish-City of Baton Rouge leaders are joining forces with several organizations to address domestic violence.

Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, The Butterfly Society, the LSU Women Center, STAR, 100 Black Women of Baton Rouge, and the Women Advancement Committee are hosting a “Night of Remembrance”. It’s all part of the “Walk a Mile in her Shoes” event for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Participants will wear women’s heels and are encouraged to wear shades of purple to show support against domestic violence.

The event takes place Monday, October 7 at 6:00 p.m. at the Galvez Plaza located off 200 North Boulevard in Downtown Baton Rouge.
