BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Another step in the process toward a new Mississippi River Bridge is taking place on Friday, May 27.

A meeting happened at the State Capitol Building during which the latest information about potential locations for the new bridge was on the agenda.

The 30 potential Mississippi bridge has been narrowed down to three locations.

All three locations for the Mississippi Bridge will be in Iberville Parish connecting to LA 1 meeting LA 30.

Now they can proceed to part two which includes an environmental review. This process can take up to two years to complete.

After part II is finished, construction could begin. A new bridge could take roughly seven years to be finalized.
