Today: Wednesday marks the official start of Fall and, as if on cue, our first real cold front will bring sweeping changes to our weather on Wednesday and after. It pushed through overnight bringing showers to a few and will clear our skies later today. Highs will be only in the upper-70s to right around 80 degrees with decreasing clouds and dropping humidity. Overnight, lows will get into the upper-mid-50s.
Thursday: It will be sunny with highs only in the upper-70s. The overnight lows on Thursday could drop into the mid-to-low 50s! It will feel fantastic.
Friday: We’ll keep the lovely weather on Friday as we only warm to 80 and cool back into the upper-50s that night.
Weekend: This is when things will slowly warm up. Expect increasing cloud cover over the weekend with highs back in the low-to-mid 80s and overnight lows in the low-to-mid 60s. The rain still holds off on the weekend so expect it to remain dry.
Next Week: Humidity and clouds fully return with highs firmly back in the mid-80s. Showers may be possible on Tuesday.
Tracking the Tropics: Tropical Depression Peter is in the Atlantic but is not a concern for Louisiana as it is expect to turn north towards Bermuda.
Tropical Depression Rose is in the Atlantic but is also not a concern for Louisiana as it will head north into the open east Atlantic.
Another tropical wave off of the west African coast has a high chance of development in the next 48 hours as it heads west into the Atlantic and towards the Caribbean. There’s plenty of time to watch this one.
