The Baton Rouge Police Department has arrested a woman accused of beating her 14-year-old son with a belt and a wooden stick.

Authorities said on May 26, Nedra Dunn became upset with her son and hit him with a leather belt multiple times, leaving marks.

After hitting him with the belt, authorities said Dunn grabbed her son and began choking him. She then grabbed a wooden stick and began striking her son’s arm multiple times, causing it to swell and lose feeling.

Dunn was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of cruelty to a juvenile.

Her son was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.
