Woman arrested for stealing dog during Krewe of Mutts parade arrested again the next day

Veronica Theurer, 44, has been arrested in connection to a dog theft that occurred during the Krewe Of Mutts Parade on Sunday.

According to the authorities, Theurer asked to walk the dog while in the parade, then left the parade with the black and white Heeler mix breed. When officers later came in contact with Theurer, the dog was not with her. Theurer stated that she had never had the dog with her, then claimed that the dog was stolen from her.

Theurer was arrested for Theft of Dogs within the city limits of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish.

The next day, Theurer was arrested for disrupting the peace and offensive noises after her car was towed.

According to authorities, Theurer called to report her car stolen by the police. While on the phone, officers described her as irritable and uncooperative. Theurer then called 911 and requested that an officer respond to her location. The officer was alerted by Headquarters that Theurer was irritable and hostile.

When the officer arrived Theurer stated she watched the police tow her vehicle away. The officer informed Theurer that her car was towed by RoadRunner Towing, not the police. The officer instructed her to call the towing company about her vehicle. Theurer started causing a scene inside a store in front of customers. She followed the officer out of the store yelling and screaming profanities. Theurer was arrested for disturbing the peace and offensive noises.
