Woman killed in Slidell boating accident died of trauma, not drowning

SLIDELL, La. (WDSU) – A woman who was killed in a boating accident in Slidell on July 4 did not drown, according to the St. Tammany Coroner.

According to the coroner, Lacy Patrick, 20, of Mobile, Alabama, died from trauma.

According to the St. Tammany Parish Fire Department, Patrick was hit by a boat while swimming.

Crews from the Sheriff’s Office, the Coast Guard and other agencies assisted with the search and rescue operation.
