BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Woman’s Hospital hosted their “BUST Breast Cancer” fundraising event on Thursday, Sept. 22.

The fundraiser was to support Woman’s mobile mammogram program to increase women’s access to breast health options in Louisiana. The popular fundraiser features breast cancer survivors modeled bra designs from local artists at L’Auberge Baton Rouge.

“The event is kind of a celebration, for everything that you’ve been through you know? Just to get up on that stage and feel empowered,” said Lindsay Guerciso, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020.

One can support the BUST Breast Cancer campaign by bidding on auction items, support by voting on your favorite bra, spreading awareness of BUST Breast Cancer, or donating.

“This event has just become a fun, exciting, wear your pink, wear your sparkle event,” said Woman’s Chairman Board of Trustees, Rose Marie Fife.

Past BUST Breast Cancer events have raised over $445,000 to support Woman’s mobile mammography coaches that traveled to 31 parishes and performed over 4,000 screenings.
