“Wounded Warrior” receives special gift at local ceremony


Tuesday is a special day for one Wounded Warrior.

Retired U.S. Army Corporal Herbert “Bubba” Youmans is being honored for his service to the United States and receiving a special gift from the Bank of America.

Organizers said, “Corporal Youmans will be presented with the ceremonial deed to his mortgage-free home.”

The retired Corporal is receiving the deed after completing a mentorship program.

These groups helped honor Corporal “Bubba” Youmans at today’s event:

  • Walmart
  • Keurig Dr Pepper
  • Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF)

Organizers provided information about the Wounded Warrior:

Corporal Youmans began his military career in June of 2005 to fulfill his lifelong dream of service, and to follow in his parents footsteps. Bubba served as a Fire Support Specialist, and deployed to Iraq shortly after completing basic training. While deployed, he was injured while supporting combat operations, and retired shortly after. For his service, Bubba was awarded the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and many others. He is a true American Hero.

Andrea Dellinger, Air Force Veteran & Senior Vice President, Military Warriors Support Foundation

Jason Zeimet, Sales Execution Manager, Keurig Dr Pepper

Scott Vanetten, Sales Execution Manager, Keurig Dr Pepper

The special event is taking place at the Walmart located at 3132 College Dr.
