Wrongfully incarcerated man from Baton Rouge advances to semi-final round on ‘America’s Got Talent’

America seems to have truly fallen in love with Baton Rouge’s own Archie Williams; he is now one of five contestants moving to the semi-final round of NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

Fans have flocked to Archie not only for his voice, but for his perseverance and fight for freedom. Williams spent nearly 40 years imprisoned at Angola State Penitentiary for a crime he didn’t commit. In 2019 Williams was released from prison after 37 years, after DNA evidence exonerated him with help from the Innocence Project New Orleans.

Fans can look forward to seeing Archie in the semi-final round of America’s Got Talent which airs on NBC Local33.
