NEW ORLEANS, La. (WDSU) — For the first time, a 71-year-old New Orleans woman is describing her COVID-19 experience.
“It’s frightening,” Patricia Marsh said.
Five years ago, Marsh beat stage 3 breast cancer and now she is fighting for her life again after being diagnosed with the coronavirus.
Marsh was hospitalized for about a week. She was discharged, but not long after, she had a major scare.
Marsh was having trouble breathing and had to be readmitted.
She was able to be discharged a second time just a few days ago.
Marsh says she was determined to make it out of the hospital alive.
“I have to trust in God that’s where I put my faith in,” Marsh said. “You have to keep fighting and keep God in your life. Thank the doctors and the nurses for all their help and support.”
