BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore announced Tuesday that he has decided against entering the upcoming race for governor.

After careful consideration, I have decided against running for governor.
I love the office I hold as well as the people (you) that I work for and with every day. I believe that I hold a very important position. It is one of the most challenging and rewarding elective offices in the state. We are all so fortunate to be able to do the important work that our community has entrusted to us.
I look forward to continuing to diligently and honestly serving the people of East Baton Rouge Parish as District Attorney.

The Louisiana gubernatorial election is set to take place on Oct. 14, 2023.
