Four proposed Constitutional amendments on Saturday ballot

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Louisiana voters will decide on four proposed Constitutional Amendments on Saturday.

Shannon Heckt broke down what each amendment would do if approved by voters.

Residents in the City of Baton Rouge and in Baker are also being asked to renew a tax millage that funds CATS.

Here are some items to remember if you’re planning to vote:

  • Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Anyone in line at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
  • Voters should bring an ID with them to vote (Louisiana driver’s license, Louisiana Special ID card, a generally recognized picture identification card with name and signature such as a passport or a digital license via LA Wallet).
  • Voters without an ID will be required to fill out an affidavit but will be allowed to vote.

Voter turnout for the election isn’t expected to be high. The Louisiana Secretary of State’s office is estimating between 13-15% statewide voter turnout.

The election was postponed for five weeks because of Hurricane Ida.
