BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Louisiana Secretary of State is telling voters to check their registration status while informing them that the Registrar Voters officers nor Clerks of Court conduct door-to-door canvass to update registration.

State Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin said independent third-party groups conduct their own in-person surveys but Louisianans are not obligated to speak or answer these groups. Louisiana voters’ registration status will not be affected if they refuse to speak to these groups.

He reassures that the Secretary of State’s office only conducts annual voter canvass through the mail.

Ardoin encourages Louisianans to check their registration status or make updates by visiting or the free Geaux Vote mobile app.
