U.S. Senate Candidate: Beryl Billiot

U.S. Senate Candidates

What is your campaign website? Which social media accounts can people follow for campaign updates?

What top three issues you think deserve your immediate attention in office?

 State / National Security:

  • First Priority – because without a strong military and secure borders, our current standard of living will be forever changed. Our country is being flooded by individuals that do not share of love of freedom, nor our Christian beliefs, and they wish to destroy our way of life.
  • 2 reasons people come here – Become like us or to destroy us
  • As Senator, I will work closely with our Nation’s leaders to establish a Safe and Prosperous America. After all, CHANGE STARTS WITH “ME”

Education:

  • Education is the foundation of all civilized nations.
  • We must educate our children if we desire to strengthen our nation to its former glory.
  • All citizens should have access to adequate educational tools to allow them to rise up from their current positions and truly experience the American Dream
  • Teachers should be well compensated to attract the most qualified.
  • Administrators should be given the proper authority to affect positive change in their schools.
  • Students should be held equally accountable, regardless of race or social status.
  • We must develop a comprehensive trade school program for those who are not compatible to a 4 year university

Job Creation:

  • The government does not create Jobs, businesses do
  • It is the Government’s responsibility to help foster the growth of AMERICAN businesses through “business-friendly” legislation
  • We must create an environment suitable for business success
  • We must fight to revitalize the Oil & Gas industry until we can transition to alternative fuel resources
  • We must work to bring Louisiana to the forefront of “Clean Energy” research and development to offset the loss of Oil & Gas revenues

How would you compromise with members of opposing parties?

By respecting other’s opinions! It is time we put our political party affiliation aside and do what’s BEST FOR AMERICA. It is being proven every day that the the bi-partisan system that made our country great is the same system that is tearing it apart! The initial intention was to bring conflicting ideas and perspectives to the table and find a mutually beneficial solution through constructive deliberation and compromise. Today’s leaders are no longer working in the spirit of compromise, they are working in total competition, where only one party can win, leaving the American people to flounder in the aftermath of the inadequacies and inabilities of their leadership as they focus on what separates us rather than what unites us. When members of Congress hope for and plot to ensure “Failure of Leadership” it is evident that we are electing the wrong people!!

What are your thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement?

Although I agree that there needs to be change in our enforcement practices, the BLM movement is doing nothing to unite us or correct any issues. It is driving bigger wedges between the American people. In many cases their actions are in direct conflict with their agenda.

What needs to be done to promote social and racial justice?

Equal enforcement and personal accountability on both sides.

Should police departments reconsider any of their policies in response to recent events? If so, which policies deserve priority?
If assailants would follow instructions of the officers, many of the recent events would not have taken place. On the other hand, when officers cross the line they should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. – There needs to be more training and alternative weapons – I would recommend tranquilizer guns.

How would you rate the state’s — and the nation’s — coronavirus response? What would you want done differently?
It is over politicized!!

Would you support any changes to the current healthcare system? What parts, if any, need change?
Healthcare:

  • We should encourage diversity in coverage partners to help lower premiums and make coverage affordable
  • We must hold individuals and professionals accountable for fraud and abuse
  • The single payer system is not the answer
  • Insurance companies must be removed from treatment process, let the doctors treat the patients
  • Emergency rooms should be for emergencies, not runny noses or after hour care

Where do you stand on gun ownership and the Second Amendment?
I am PRO GUN.

Do you think our nation’s immigration system needs adjustment? What changes would you support, if any?
Enforce our immigration laws!!

  • Our country is being flooded by individuals that do not share of love of freedom, nor our Christian beliefs, and they wish to destroy our way of life.
  • 2 reasons people come here – Become like us or to destroy us

We need to implement objectives to adequately determine their intentions!!

What steps would you support to strengthen the nation’s security?
Increase our military and roll back to the time when it was allowable to put recruits in stressful situations that prepare them for combat. HARD-CORE training not this current day passive training program.

What are your thoughts on climate change?

What, if anything, should Congress do about it? I believe climate change is happening and there is nothing we can do to stop it. It is a scientific fact the the earth has undergone multiple cycles of heating and cooling long before mankind inhabited the planet. We need to acknowledge that we do affect air quality in our immediate environment and should take individual steps to improve it.

Would you vote in favor of spending bills that add to the deficit?

NO! We need a balanced budget Amendment.

Do you believe our current political system, namely on Capitol Hill, lacks civility? How would you encourage civil discourse in Congress?

Today’s leaders are no longer working in the spirit of compromise, they are working in total competition, where only one party can win, leaving the American people to flounder in the aftermath of the inadequacies and inabilities of their leadership as they focus on what separates us rather than what unites us. When members of Congress hope for and plot to ensure “Failure of Leadership” it is evident that we are electing the wrong people!! We need to elect civil people!!
