BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A member of the West Baton Rouge Parish Council is announcing a run for State Senate.

Caleb Kleinpeter is running for the Senate District 17 seat that was recently vacated with the resignation of Rick Ward.

Kleinpeter currently represents District IV on the West Baton Rouge Parish Council, a seat he was elected to in 2019.

“I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Senate District 17 and am looking forward to meeting the citizens in the parishes of District 17 very soon. I fought for this country and I will fight for you,” said Kleinpeter.

Senate District 17 includes portions of the following parishes: St Helena, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, Pointe Coupee, West Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Assumption, and St. Martin.
