ZACHARY, La. (BRPROUD) — Zachary High School will have increased security on Wednesday and Thursday after law enforcement received a report of an anonymous threat.

Zachary Community School District alerted parents on Tuesday night. According to the message for parents, law enforcement received word of a vague potential threat at the school.

The district reportedly works with local law enforcement to boost security and keep students and faculty safe.

Zachary Community School District sent the following message to families on Tuesday night:

“Late this evening, district administrators received an anonymous report from local law enforcement that was received via the Crimestoppers system, that provided vague details about a possible threat, that might have been seen, that could take place at Zachary High School tomorrow or Thursday. We want to assure you that law enforcement and district staff are working together to ensure there is an additional presence at the school tomorrow and the situation will be monitored closely and constantly. Our students’ and employees’ safety are always our number one priority. While many reports are unsubstantiated, we take all reports seriously and we want our families to have as much information as possible.”
