ZACHARY, La. (BRPROUD) – The first day of the 2022-2023 school year is less than a month away and officials with the Zachary Police Department (ZPD) don’t want any children to go without the materials they’ll need to succeed in the classroom.
This is why the ZPD is encouraging locals to donate new school supplies that can be used during the upcoming school year.
According to the police department’s official Facebook page, ZPD is a collection site for a local school drive, and one of the most widely needed items are book sacks for children of all ages.
Anyone who wants to drop off new book sacks or other school-related items can bring them to the police department, which is located at:
4510 Main Street
Zachary, LA 70791
Police say all donated supplies will be redistributed to students in the Zachary community August 6 at the Zachary High School gymnasium.
