If you live in Zachary, get ready to pay more to have your trash and recycling picked up each week.

The City of Zachary provided this statement about the forthcoming increase:

As a result of cost increases implemented by Waste Management, City of Zachary residents and small commercial units will soon see a 4 percent increase on their monthly trash and recyclable collection bill. Waste Management currently has the city’s contract for curbside garbage/solid waste pickup and recycling.

The City Council approved the small rate adjustment Thursday, February 27 at the Council Meeting. Effective March 1, 2020, an additional 86 cents a month increase will be collected to cover rising costs. The cost of this service per month will now be $22.46. The last increase was in 2018.
