BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Government officials plan to distribute face masks today in St. John the Baptist and Ascension parishes.

St. John residents will receive one pack of five masks, which are washable and can be reused. Masks will be handed out until supplies are depleted.

Drive-thru distribution will take place at the REGALA Gym parking lot, 200 REGALA Park in Reserve.

In a statement, officials said they plan to continue mask distribution to St. John residents on April 30. Giveaways on Thursday will occur at two locations:

Edgard (1-3 p.m.): West St. John High School parking lot, 480 LA 3127

Vacherie (4-5 p.m.): Pleasure Bend Fire Station, 1200 LA 643

Beginning at 9 a.m. in Ascension Parish, officials with the Town of Sorrento will distribute masks through the Town Hall drive-up window. Only one mask will be distributed per adult, while supplies last.
