Hospitality workers eat free with Furlough Kitchen

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Furlough Kitchen by Walk-On’s will provide hospitality workers with a free meal, regardless of former employer, on Tuesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 2.

The food truck will serve customers from 2-5 p.m. and be stationed at 3838 Burbank Drive. Patrons may receive a classic burger with cheese and fries.

Furlough Kitchen is a non-profit organization in Dallas, operating in conjunction with Baton Rouge-based Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux. The company was formed during the covid-19 outbreak, which profoundly affected the livelihood of those working in the hospitality industry.

“As is the case across the country, community and team needs are changing rapidly and our involvement has never been more vital,” said Walk-On’s COO & President Scott Taylor.
