BATON ROUGE, La. (BR Proud) — Galentine’s Day is celebrated every year on Feb. 13, the day before Valentine’s Day. While not everyone can get together with their best gal pals this year, a virtual experience may be one of the best options to still get some girl time. This experience is also great for celebrating a virtual birthday!

Make sure to ship items before the event to each participant. Because this event includes some perishable items, USPS Priority Mail flat rate may be the best option for cost, time (2-3 days) and tracking information. Make sure to include a ‘Save the Date’ with day and time.

What to include:

One whole grapefruit

Airplane size bottle of vodka, like Spring 44 Distilling

Single serving of POM pomegranate juice

Disposable Martini glass

Cinnamon stick (in a Ziploc baggie)

Honey (individual packet or suggest participants use what they have on hand)

Beauty product, like Masktini

Send participants a Zoom meeting link two to three days ahead of time.

The agenda can be flexible, especially considering the most important part of the date is the quality time to catch up with your best gal pals. The team at 3d PR & Marketing suggest kicking things off by having someone lead participants in making the Skin Perfecting Pomegranate Refresher. This will take about five to ten minutes.

Then, dive into your preferred beauty product. A face mask like Masktini, makes things fun and is a great option for a virtual call. Steer clear of the sheet masks, as they can be uncomfortable when chatting. The product’s packaging also pairs well with the Skin Perfecting Pomegranate Refresher, in name and color.

The final recipe, the Hot Toddy, makes for a warm send-off before everyone heads to bed.

Skin Perfecting Pomegranate Refresher

2 oz. Vodka

1/2 grapefruit juiced

2 oz pomegranate juice

Add vodka over ice in a shaker. Cut grapefruit into wedges and squeeze into shaker. Pour in pomegranate juice and shake or mix to combine. Strain into martini-ware. Pro Tip: Heat the grapefruit in the microwave for ten seconds to get the most juice.

Healing Hot Toddy

2 oz. Vodka

3/4 oz. honey

5 oz. hot water

2 lemon or orange wheels

1 cinnamon stick

Add lemon to glass mug and lightly muddle with a spoon. Add vodka, honey and aromatics to glass. Top with hot water and stir to combine.

If you need some talking points to help with the theme of the night, the below was provided by 3d PR & Marketing.

“Upgrade your regular after-work drink with the Skin Perfecting Pomegranate Refresher which delivers several vitamins, including vitamins C and E. The vitamins partner together to protect skin from damage, help with inflammation, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and play a vital role in the body’s natural production of collagen.”

“Stay cozy with the warming Hot Toddy packed with anti-inflammatory ingredients like honey and cinnamon. The pair have been attributed to helping boost the immune system, plus vitamin C and flavonoids, which help neutralize free radicals in our bodies and slow cellular aging. Finally, they may help prevent damage from environmental aggressors like UV and pollution.”

One hour’s time is suggested for a group of three to four. Of course, adjust as you see fit considering how much catching up your group has to do and taking into consideration, some gals may need to get their little ones tucked in for the night.
