BATON ROUGE, La. (BRProud) — RTW Retailwinds, the parent company for New York & Co., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and plans to permanently close most, if not all of its bricks-and-mortar retail stores, according to a recent press release.
New York & Co. has one location inside the Mall of Louisiana and while liquidation sales have kicked off, its unclear whether the Baton Rouge location will be on the list of initial closures. The retailer also has a discount store at Tanger Outlets in Gonzalez.
New York & Co. joins a growing list of retailers who have announced permanent store closures in Baton Rouge, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The clothier was first incorporated in 1918 and has grown to now operate approximately 378 retail and outlet locations across 32 states.
