Waitr offers free grocery and alcohol delivery for Baton Rouge ahead of Hurricane Delta

BATON ROUGE, La. (BR Proud) — Families preparing for the impacts of Hurricane Delta can get free grocery delivery from Louisiana-based Waitr starting today. The delivery service will allow shoppers to order basic necessities such as water, toilet paper, cleaning supplies and personal care products, in addition to meats and produce.

Alcohol delivery is also available, when accompanied by a food order. An adult age 21 or older with valid identification must be present at the residence to accept the delivery. The name on the order must match the name on the ID card.

Waitr will provide personal shoppers and delivery drivers to help fulfill grocery orders, according to a spokesperson for the company.

Waitr offers same day delivery and no contact delivery options on all orders. All delivery addresses must be located in Baton Rouge, in order to qualify for the deal. To redeem the freebie, enter promo code GROCERY at check-out in the app or at waitrapp.com. The deal is valid through Saturday, or as weather conditions permit.
