BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Southern men’s basketball schedule was released on Tuesday, Sept. 26 as the Jaguars will be participating in 13 non-conference games before entering conference play in January.
According to Southern Athletics, before Southern kicks off their regular season schedule, the Jaguars will play host to Louisiana Christian for an exhibition game before their season opener in Fort Worth to take on TCU. The TCU contest on Nov. 6 will begin an eight-game road trip for the Jaguars.
After Southern takes on TCU, they will face off against UNLV, Arizona, Western Illinois, Illinois, Valparaiso, Marquette and Mississippi State. Southern’s home opener won’t come until Dec. 9 when the Jaguars play host to Southeastern Louisiana.
According to Southern Athletics, Southern will wrap up non-conference play with a three-game slate featuring matchups against Champion Christian College, Tulane, Wiley College and Ecclesia College. The Jaguars SWAC opener will be against Texas Southern at F.G. Clark Activity Center.
