ATLANTA, GA (BRPROUD) – The Southern University baseball team wins their first game of the SWAC tournament in Atlanta.
The Jaguars defeated Bethune-Cookman University 4-2, with the game ending on a double play.
Nicolas Wilson pitched seven innings for the Jaguars and struck out nine batters to pick up the win.
The Jaguars’ scoring picked up in the eighth inning when the team scored three runs to take the lead 4-2.

Southern will next play the winner of Grambling State and Jackson State at 5 p.m. Thursday.
The SWAC championship game is scheduled for Sunday.
