BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — LSU comes into the 2023 season with high expectations after claiming the SEC Western Division crown in Brian Kelly’s first year in Baton Rouge.

The AFCA college football preseason coaches’ poll was released on Monday, and the Tigers landed at the No. 5 spot heading into the season.

There is a lot of optimism for LSU heading into the 2023 season as they return with key starters on both sides of the ball. LSU will be looking to continue its momentum from a 10-4 finish in 2022.

LSU is set to take on Florida State on Sunday, Sept. 3, in their season opener. It is setting up a heavyweight clash as LSU came in at No. 5 and Florida State is at No. 8 in the latest preseason poll.
