METAIRIE, La. (BRPROUD) — New Orleans Saints Dennis Allen announced Andy Dalton will be the starting quarterback on Sunday against the Raiders.

Both Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton are healthy and fully participated in practice on Wednesday. Allen says this was an offensive decision based on performance.

“I feel like he’s been playing well and giving us a little bit of stability,” said Saints running back Alvin Kamara. “Not that Davis wasn’t, but I don’t get paid to make those decisions. So upstairs, I guess I feel like going with Andy would be the best fit right now with Andy.”

“I think he does a good job just kind of staying poised and being calm about the way he is in the pocket, in the way he gets his reads. You know, I feel like he kind of never panics when he’s going through his reads and he just kind of just seems like he gets to the right place at the right time, you know? I mean, minus some of the things that we were doing were self-inflicted. I think he’s played well,” said Kamara.

Wide receiver Jarvis Landry did not practice on Wednesday. Michael Thomas also officially listed DNP on the injury reserve list at practice then left before the team began stretching.
