BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Saints are adding another quarterback to the team.

According to Jeff Duncan, the Saints are signing Blake Bortles to backup Ian Book when the team faces the Miami Dolphins on Monday night.

Book was thrust into the starting position when the Saints’ other quarterbacks Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian, were added to the COVID reserve list.

This would be Book’s first NFL start of his career. He was selected in the 4th round of the 2021 NFL draft.

The Saints are coming off a 9-0 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
