METAIRIE, La. (BRPROUD.com) – Patience is a virtue and also the mantra head coach Dennis Allen is using, as the Black and Gold wrap up their final week of OTAs. Several players are still adjusting to New Orleans’ system, but QB2 backup quarterback Andy Dalton has nothing but praise for New Orleans, since touching down in the Big Easy.

“It’s been great. I’ve really enjoyed my time here, and getting here, getting in our quarterback room, being around Jameis, being around Ian, we’ve gotten close with just being here and everything. Just fun to see how they work and to be part of this thing,” Dalton said.

All eyes of course remain on QB1 Jameis Winston, as the Saints’ starting signal caller continues his rehab from his torn ACL, and the Saints starting quarterback continues to impress his teammates with both his work ethic on and off the field.

“Jameis has been great. Followed him from afar, but now just to see how he works, and how important it is for him, a lot of fun for me to see. He does everything the right way, and it’s been a lot of fun for me to be a part of that and kind of just watch him work, and see how just goes about doing everything,” Dalton continued.

“He’s been awesome. He’s the first one here everyday. Every time I get here, you can’t really beat him here. He’s here early in the  morning. He’s here with the rookies, when we’re the only ones here. It’s him. He’s in our o-line meetings learning protection and stuff. He’s been incredible. He works extremely hard, and it’s awesome to have a guy like that,” rookie tackle Trevor Penning added.
