Baton Rouge, La. – The New Orleans Saints placed wide receiver Michael Thomas on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday due to a team outbreak on offense, reported by ESPN’s Field Yates.

This does not mean Thomas has COVID-19. Players who come in close contact with people who have the virus are to be placed on the list.

Prior to the announcement, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Saints had a handful of positive COVID-19 tests which included their offensive coaches.

Thomas would have been out week 2 anyways due to his ankle injury. The wide receiver is expected to be out for at least five games.
