BATON ROUGE – Baton Rouge hosted the Night of Champions and helped celebrate the enshrinement of some of college baseball all-time greats.
“Little bit surreal right now. I kind of reflect on what my college days was like and where that catapulted me to the position I was in later in life. I guess this is a culmination of everything coming full circle,” said baseball hall of famer Andre Dawson.
Louisiana officials were also happy to host the event in hopes of bringing the hall of fame museum to the city.
“We are a great capital city. Our hospitality. Our food. It would be a welcoming environment for all who would want to come to visit the College Baseball Hall of Fame so I think we will certainly add some brownie points to our tab this weekend,” Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome said.
