BATON ROUGE, La. – “I had a plaque made for his signing day. It says ‘dreams do come true,’ and I have a picture of him when he was eight years old. He ran track at LSU and had LSU in the background. He had a metal around his neck, and I presented him that the day of his signing day,” Tarnisha Boutte said.

Kayshon Boutte’s parents knew their son was going to be an LSU Tiger, and he’s off to a strong start as a Bayou Bengal. Head coach Ed Orgeron has raved about the freshman during fall camp, and he’ll be on the field for the season opener.

“We’re looking at Kayshon Boutte starting as a freshman. I think that’s locked in,” Coach O said.

Alabama was a strong contender for the New Iberia native, but even the Crimson Tide couldn’t stop Boutte from fulfilling his dreams.

“They asked a question. ‘What more can we do to get him to come to Bama?’ I told them, ‘man y’all up against a dream school,'” Kayshon’s father Embrick Boutte said.

Embrick and Tarnisha now wait for their son to dress up in purple and gold, and as for his first touchdown, well…the Boutte’s are ready to celebrate.

“I’m very, very, very, very excited. It’s been his lifelong dream. I’m so excited for him, nervous as well, very nervous. He’s always wanted to play in Tiger Stadium,” Tarnisha said.
