HARTLAND, MI (BRPROUD.com) – The number two kicker in the country committed to LSU on Friday, giving the Tigers a new heir to Cade York in the 2022 class.
Dibert became LSU’s 12th commit in this recruiting cycle, where the Purple and Gold hold the top class in the SEC and fourth best nationally, according to 247Sports.
The kicker has used his feet for two sports, competing as as dual-sport athlete in soccer, but his football coach emphasized how strong of a kicker Dibert has become.
“The foot is amazing. He’s got a foot that sometimes we worry about some of the airplanes flying over. He’s one of those kids, if we kickoff to start a game, the thing’s going through the back of the endzone,” Hartland head football coach Brian Savage said.
Dibert will have a legacy to continue when he touches down in the Red Stick, following in both Cole Tracy and Cade York’s footsteps, but Savage assured kicking under pressure won’t be a problem for the 2022 commit.
“I think that challenge part is sort of what drives him. I told him ‘hey, hopefully you’re the guy kicking that field goal at the end of a national championship game. You’ve got that opportunity now, and it’s your to take,'” Savaged added.
