LSU Basketball moved up six spots in both the AP and Coaches polls released on Monday.

The Tigers (16-3, 6-0) are now ranked 19th in both polls, up from No. 25 in the AP poll and being unranked in the Coaches poll.

Coach Will Wade and the Tigers are currently riding a nine game winning streak and are a perfect 6-0 in SEC play, that record good enough to be in a tie for first place in the league with No. 1 Tennessee.

The spot is good enough for LSU’s highest ranking in the polls in a decade. In March 2009, LSU was ranked No. 12 in the AP, and No. 11 in the Coaches poll.

LSU is one of four SEC teams currently in both polls along with: Tennessee (AP No. 1, Coaches No. 1), Kentucky (AP No. 7, Coaches No. 6), and Mississippi State (AP No. 22, Coaches No. 21).

The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to College Station to play Texas A&M (8-10, 1-5) at 8:00pm CT.
