BATON ROUGE, La. – The Tiger Athletic Foundation hired Matt Borman nearly two months to the day of his introductory presser, and new coaches from Kim Mulkey to retirees such as D-D Breaux were in attendance for his welcome party. The leaders of the Bayou Bengals expressed optimism for Borman’s impact on LSU athletics.
“His credentials are phenomenal, and I think he’s gonna make a huge impact on the LSU community, in Baton Rouge here and, obviously, LSU athletics. We need him. We need him to do great things,” now former head baseball coach Paul Mainieri said.
“We’re on the brink of greatness I think, and to have the coaches that we have amassed, and student athletes, and the talent that we have here and the facilities that we have now, moving forward, we’re going to just make things that are good better,” former head gymnastics coach D-D Breaux added.
“Whether it’s the natatorium or whether it’s Coach Wade and Coach Mulkey need with the basketball programs, I think Matt’s gonna do a great job of getting those needs addressed, at least creating awareness of what exactly they are,” current gymnastics head coach Jay Clark stated.
