NEW ORLEANS, La. (BRPROUD) – LSU fell to FSU in Brian Kelly’s debut as head coach, 24-23.
The Tigers final opportunity came with 1 second remaining in the game. Jayden Daniels completed a two yard touchdown pass to Jaray Jenkins, yet the Seminoles blocked Damian Ramos’ extra point attempt.
It was not the only special teams miscue for the purple and gold. Ramos had a 30 yard field goal attempt blocked in the second quarter. Malik Nabers muffed two punts, including a costly fumble with a little over two minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Daniels impressed with his legs as he finished with 114 yards on 16 rushes. A strong second half through the air brought his final passing totals to 25/34 for 209 yards and two touchdowns in his LSU debut.
Maason Smith suffered an injury on the Seminoles’ first drive and did not return the rest of the game.
