LSU takes Game One against Alabama, 2-1

BATON ROUGE, La — Junior second baseman Drew Bianco roped a double down the left-field line in the seventh inning to bring in the deciding run, giving LSU the victory, 2-1.

Right-hander Landon Marceaux picked up the win after pitching 6.1 innings, giving up no runs on 11 hits. Marceaux was able to pitch out of several tough spots throughout his outing while picking up six strikeouts.

Devin Fontenot came in to relieve Marceaux in the seventh inning and pitched 2.2 innings giving up one run on two hits. Fontenot earned his fourth save.

The Tigers will return to action Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on the SEC Network, and it will be carried on the LSU Sports Radio Network affiliates.

Tide starter Tyler Ras would suffer the loss, giving up two runs on four hits, while walking three Tigers.
