LSU’s Luht Completes World Swimming Championships

Karl Luht, a soon to be senior for the Tigers, has wrapped up competition at the 2019 World Swimming Championships in Gwangju, Korea. Luht competed in the 50 and 100-Meter Backstroke as well as the Mixed 4×100 Medley Relay for his native country Estonia.              

In the 50-Meter Backstroke, Luht finished in 39th place after touching the wall in 25.97. He finished 38th in the 100-Meter Backstroke with a time of 55.75. Estonia finished in 21stplace in the Mixed 4×100 Medley Relay with a time of 3:54.17. Luht swam the first 100 meters in 55.86.

“I’m very happy Karl had the opportunity to compete on the world stage and gain that experience,” said LSU head swim coach Dave Geyer. “Moving forward, I think this experience helps us prepare him for better goals in 2020 both at the NCAA and world stage.”
