How LSU plans to bring back 2019 offense

HOOVER, Al. – Can LSU recrate its historic 2019 offense? Well during day one of SEC Media Days, head coach Ed Orgeron said he hired offensive coordinator Jake Peetz and passing game coordinator DJ Mangas to run Joe Brady’s offense.

Both coaches came to LSU with a history coaching alongside Brady, and Mangas was an offensive analyst during the Tigers’ championship run.

The quarterback battle will continue into fall camp, but no matter who wins the starting job, Coach O will expect an explosive offense similar to his 2019 unit.

“Are we going to be the same as we were with Joe Burrow? I can’t expect that. I don’t know if we ever gonna see another Joe Burrow, but the same styles of plays, the same communication, the same philosophies are going to be there,” Orgeron said.
