BATON ROUGE – The U-High Cubs (1-0) have their sights set on another Division II state championship, after bringing home their 4th state title since 2014. For U-High’s Head Coach Andy Martin, it was his first as a head coach.

For 2022, this year’s schedule will test them early on. The Cubs put on a defensive clinic in Week 1 shutting out Woodlawn and Rickie Collins, the LSU quarterback commit. U-High limited the Panthers to only 86 total yards of offense, 35 of those were rushing yards while sacking Collins 4 times.

The Cubs will face another 5A opponent in Week 2 as Archbishop Rummel (1-0) comes to town. The Raiders are coming off a win over Ouachita Parish, 42-28. Rummel finished with 201 rushing yards on the night.
