HOOVER, Al. – LSU has a new defense for the third time in the last three years. The Tigers went from Dave Aranda, to Bo Pelini and now Daronte Jones, as the 42-year-old will have to turnaround a defense which gave up the fourth-most yards per game last season.
The Tigers won’t take an in-game snap until September fourth, but Jones has already impacted the Purple and Gold locker room.
“I think his communication skills with the players. He’s better than anybody I’ve had in that area. His meetings are very entertaining. He’ll play music. He’ll get up there and dance. That’s not something that I’m not going do, but he gets the excitement back in the game,” LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said.
