It’s his final season at Woodlawn High and Rickie Collins has more to prove before his time comes to a close here in Baton Rouge. Despite losing 22 guys from last year’s team, the 4 star quarterback is hungry for another state championship run after being knocked out by Destrehan in the second round.

Collins committed to Purdue University last fall and his commitment to the Boilermakers hasn’t waived even though he’s been more sought after on the recruiting trail.

“I like to call myself a hidden gem, a utility player because I can do it all,” said Collins. “You need me to run, I can run, you need me to be a Drew Brees, I can be a Drew Brees. So I like to be able to have that in my game and do whatever is needed.”
