DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (BRPROUD) — #3 Southern Lab rolled past Central Private Friday shutting out the Redhawks 60-0 to open District 8-1A play.
The Kittens took no time finding the endzone. On their first drive of the game, Armriyan Asberry pounded through the defense to get in for a touchdown. Southern Lab missed the extra point, making its lead, 6-0.
Southern Lab extended its lead on the very next possession. Douglas Thornton took it to the house on the first play of the drive to put the Kittens up 13-0.
Redhawks tried to make things interesting late in the first quarter when Houston Hunt intercepted Kittens’ Marlon Brown’s pass and returned it into Southern Lab territory.
However, on the next play, the Kittens returned the favor when Dylan Day picked off Central Private’s Hunter Pourciau.
The win moves Southern Lab to 4-1 while Central Private falls to 1-5.
