ZACHARY, La. (BRPROUD) — The Zachary High Broncos fell behind on the first drive of the ballgame, then reeled off 17 unanswered points to take down St. Augustine on Friday night.
The Broncos, who had a de facto bye week, after their John Curtis game fell through, wore off some of the rust with a ground-and-pound running game in the 2nd Quarter.
Zachary is now 2-0, going into their Week 4 game vs. McKinley.
Even after a big top-ten win, the Broncos aren’t likely to climb the rankings from their number four spot — all three 5A teams ahead of them in the rankings all won.
St. Aug will move on to play one of the hottest teams in the state: Edna Karr.
