BATON ROUGE, La. – In the second game of the Red Stick Rumble Jamboree, the new-look Catholic High Bears with new head coach David Simoneaux took on their rival: the U-High Cubs.

The Bears struggled out the gate. The Cubs scored with a field goal early in the first half, and on the ensuing, drive forced a turnover with a tipped pick. U-High went up 10-0, but the Cubs’ offense stopped there.

Catholic shrunk the gap to 10-7 just before halftime, when Daniel Beale hit Bradley Wright for a touchdown. In the second half, running back Corey Singleton punched in another score for the Bears.

Catholic High finished with a 28-0 run and a 28-10 win in the jamboree.
