Ryan Capriotti nailed a game-winning field goal to lift Our Lady of Good Counsel (Md.) over Catholic High School 38-35.

The Bears possessed the ball with less than three minutes to go and a shot at pulling ahead. Yet the Falcons defense forced a punt, and moved into prime field position for their 4.5 star kicker.

From kickoff, it was all Bears. A long return by Shelton Sampson set up Catholic at the two yard line and Quarterback Daniel Beale punched it in on a 4th-down QB sneak.

The Falcons rode Dilan Jones to the end zone for two early scores as he dominated for most of the night.

Barry Remo answered with a strong game on the ground for Catholic. Beale and Sampson connected a number of times throughout the first half, including a corner fade for a touchdown in front of the Bears’ student section.

Good Counsel avenged a loss last year in Maryland, as Catholic dominated then 38-10. The all-time series is now at 1-1.

Catholic travels to New Orleans next week for a game with Warren Easton.
