Catholic Wins 3rd title in 6 years

NATCHITOCHES – Catholic High brings home another state championship after running over C.E. Byrd 35-12, in the Division I title game to close out the first day of the LHSAA’s Prep Classic Sunday night.

The Bears jumped out 14-0 and never looked back. With the help from freshman quarterback Daniel Beale who went 11-of-17 for 220 yards and two touchdowns.

Tre’ Benson and Landon O’Connor both scored two TDs a piece leading Catholic (9-2) to its ninth straight win and handed the Yellow Jackets (10-1) their first loss of the year.

CHS has won 3 state titles in 6 years, including 2 under Head Coach Gabe Fertitta.
