BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Central made it all the way into October without playing a road game in the 2023 season. The Wildcats played their first away game at Scotlandville and left the Hornet’s Nest with a dominating 47-6 win.

The Wildcat’s led 34-6 at the end of the first half thanks to a second quarter explosion. Central added to its lead in the third quarter thanks to a two-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jackson Firmin to wide receiver Evan Jones, making it 41-6.

David Simoneaux’s team improves to 5-1 in his first season as Central’s head coach, already passing last year’s win total of four games.

Up next: the Wildcats host Catholic High School, Simoneaux’s former team, at the Cat House. Scotlandville will travel to Zachary and take on an undefeated Broncos team.
