FFN Game of the Week: Central holds off Walker, 35-28

High School Football

Walker – The battle of the Wildcats is another one for the books, as Central holds on to win 35-28 over Walker at Wildcat Stadium.

The Walker Wildcats (1-5, 0-3 in District 4-5A) put up a fight while still searching for their first district win in 2020. Central (5-1, 2-1) rebounded from a tough defensive battle with Scotlandville in week 5.

Hunter Bethel sparked Walker’s offense after a quarterback change for the Wildcats in the first quarter. Walker led 21-14 at halftime.

Central scored the first 21 points of the second half before Walker scored late to make it a one-score game.

CHS’s Junior quarterback Johnathan Swift completed 7-13 passes for 94 yards, rushed for 114 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. Senior running back Pierce Patterson lead Central with 139 yards and 2 touchdowns on 23 carries.
